Driving Skills for Life program (DSFL) who moved the Department of Transportation in cooperation with the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation and Indonesia Defensive Driving Center (IDDC) gives some important points for improving driving safety.
Some key points from DSFL training include awareness of road and traffic conditions, safe driving techniques and methods to drive more economically thereby reducing the negative impact on the environment.
"Technique - a technique used to driving safely is as important as economical driving techniques and fuel economy," said Neal McCarthy, Ford's Director of Corporate Communications, Asia Pacific and Africa.
"In doing so, drive slowly and stabilized at normal engine speeds is not only safer, but can also help drivers improve fuel efficiency by up to 25% more efficient, and reduce CO2 emissions," he continued.
Economical driving training includes anticipating road conditions, applying the technique to drive a fuel efficient, high-speed driving prevention and maintenance of a good vehicle for optimum fuel economy.
Safe driving skills will focus on seat belt use, understand and anticipate changes in road condition, how to avoid distraction and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
"Inspiring safe driving is the single biggest step we can take to reduce traffic accidents," said Craft. "Driving Skills for Life will help drivers become aware of the conditions around them and realize the impact of their actions on road safety."
The introduction of the Driving Skills for Life in Southeast Asia can be realized thanks to Ford GlobalGiving donations. This is the first initiative of Ford GlobalGiving in Asia, a campaign Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services.
Anyone can join and follow DSFL Indonesia, the training will be held on August 8, 2009 for the dealer / costumer and special sessions for women and DSFL Camp for teens to be held in October and November 2009 respectively.
